USA complete the double, women’s team also qualify for Doha
August 3, 2026
Two years after their last appearance, the United States will return with both teams to the courts of the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha for the most prestigious event of the year. After the men’s team, the USA women’s team has also secured its place in the final stage of the FIP World Cup 2026, thanks to the decisive victory over Canada on the final day of the North and Central America FIP World Cup Qualifiers. Following their win over Mexico, the experienced pairing of Brittany Dubins and Marta Morga once again played a key role in Toronto, defeating Indjin/Mackie 6-2 6-1. The decisive point for USA came from Clementina Riobueno and Dhany Quevedo (7-5 6-4 against Sales/Ojeda), before the final celebration with Carla Rodriguez and Daniela Ruiz (a double 6-0 victory over Berriri/Lilley). “What an incredible week with such a special group of girls,” said Brittany Dubins, one of the team’s leading players. “I couldn’t be more proud of this team and having the honor to represent the USA by wearing Red, White, and Blue! Also congrats to Mexico and Canada for competing hard and showing a lot of class.”
The USA men’s team also closed their campaign with another victory, in a thrilling clash with Mexico, with both teams already qualified. Mexico started stronger, with Amilcar Bejarano and Jose Pablo Padilla defeating Vinny Di Francesco and Christopher Humphreys 7-6 6-4. Matias Segura and Nico Agritelley levelled the tie with a comeback win over Rivero/Montoya (6-7 6-1 6-1), before Raul Ruiz Alvarez and Jose Antonio De Armas secured the decisive victory – also in three sets – with a 6-4 6-7 7-6 win over Castillo/Barrientos.
After the North and Central America teams, the next step on the road to Doha will be in Asunción, Paraguay, from 20 to 22 August, with the South America qualifiers.
