Day6. Fernandez-Calvo vs Ustero-Sanchez, one throne for two. Men: Coello-Tapia vs Chingalan once again
September 13, 2026
Claudia Fernandez and Martina Calvo had reached two finals in their first two tournaments as a pair. Both were P1 events, first in Pretoria and then in London, but the final of the Premier Padel Alpine Paris Major means even more: because it is a Major, as the name itself suggests; because 2,000 FIP Ranking points are at stake for the winners; and because Paris offers the chance to play in a global sporting temple such as Roland Garros. Claudia and Martina, the fourth seeds, defeated top seeds and defending champions Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay 6-4 6-2 in the second women’s semi-final. There were breaks in each of the first two games of the match, followed by the decisive break for Fernandez/Calvo in the ninth game. In the second set, Delfi and Gemma lost their serve twice, surrendering their Paris throne. Challenging Fernandez and Calvo for the second Major title of the season will be Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero, who also reached the final at the Foro Italico. In the first semi-final, the third seeds came from a set down to defeat Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo 5-7 6-4 6-1.
MEN While the women’s final, which will begin at 14:00 CEST, will feature the third and fourth seeds, the men’s title match, not before 16:30, will once again be Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan. It will be the third consecutive Roland Garros final between the two pairs, with Coello and Tapia chasing their third straight title. They earned their place in the final with a 7-5 6-3 victory over Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger, who were punished by two breaks, one in the 12th game of the first set and the other in the sixth game of the second. Chingotto and Galan, meanwhile, came from behind after both sets began with a break for Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno, eventually closing out a 7-5 6-2 victory in one hour and 20 minutes. The two perennial rivals have won 15 of the 16 tournaments played in 2026: eight for Coello and Tapia, most recently in London, and seven for Chingotto and Galan, whose latest triumph came last Sunday in Madrid. In Rome, at the first Major of the year, it was Arturo and Agustin who came out on top.
