Karachi shines a spotlight on talents from Pakistan and Qatar

Karachi hosted the second FIP Promises Tour event of the year in Pakistan, serving as a prelude to the first CUPRA FIP Tour tournament to be held in the country from 28 September to 4 October. At the tournament held at Padelverse, players competed across four boys’ draws, from Under 12 to Under 18. Among those to shine were several local talents, including Under 18 winners Ibrahim Aftab and Ismail Shiraz, who also won the title in Karachi last March, and Under 12 winners Syed Muhammad Daud Ali/Ahmed Jawad.

 

The Under 16 category was won by a Qatari pair, with Essa Alkuwari, number 3 in the FIP Promises Asia Under 16 Ranking, partnering Ahmed Hassan. Two more players from Qatar, Nawaf Alyafei and Rida Agha, won the Under 14 title. Following the first two FIP Promises events, the NextGen tour will return to Karachi from 24 to 27 September.
