NextGen in action this weekend: five events across two continents

A week packed with events awaits the FIP Promises Tour, with five tournaments across two continents.The young talents of padel will take to the court in Stockholm (Sweden), Grötzingen (Germany), Floridia (Italy), São João da Madeira (Portugal) and San Luis (Mexico).
The NextGen will be in the spotlight at FIP Promises São João da Madeira, where eight draws will be contested: Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 for both boys and girls. Home pairing Francisco Fleming and Lourenco Rodrigues have one objective: to lift the Under 18 title in front of their home crowd. In the girls’ Under 16, most of the pairings are Portuguese, including young padel talent Francisca Cravo, who will also compete in the Under 14. The Portuguese player is No. 2 in the FIP Promises Ranking Under 14 Europe and in 2026 has won six FIP Promises Tour events (Viseu, Oeiras, Setúbal, Badajoz, Lisbon and Middelkerke). Matches at the Portuguese event will be played at Opa São João da Madeira.
The FIP Promises Floridia will feature five draws: three boys’ draws (Under 14, 16 and 18) and two girls’ draws (Under 16 and 18). Gabriele Laurino and Alessandro Zaccagnino lead the oldest age group. Their main rivals for the title are Matteo Quatrana-Raffaele Tatullo and Alessandro Pirrotta-Luca Maria Laguzza. In the girls’ Under 18, Giuliana Di Martino and Eleonora Regini will be among the pairs to watch, with the duo also entered in the Under 16 category.
From Italy to Germany. The German event will feature the boys’ Under 14, 16 and 18. Among the pairings entered in the oldest age group of FIP Promises Grötzingen are Victor Gad-Bertram Sondrup, Cochise Inde Bennett-Stan Hunt and Kay Budrys-Florian Schmidt. Matches at the tournament will be played at Padelroom Bruchsal.
The FIP Promises Stockholm will feature six draws in total: Under 14, 16 and 18 for both boys and girls. In the boys’ oldest age group, the title will be contested between home player Junior Brydolf and Spaniard Carlos Garau Barbosa (No. 1 seeds), and Dutch duo Daan Jans-Pieter Hermus Jr. In the boys’ Under 16, Swedes Malthe Lindh and Filip Dahlqvist lead the draw, while in the girls’ Under 16 two pairings stand out in the title race: Lola Teikari-Selma Sofia Killman and sisters Anshika and Rishita Rajagopal.
The event scheduled in San Luis, Mexico, will feature boys’ Under 14, 16 and 18 draws. In the latter category, the only all-Mexican pairing, Mateo Gonzalez-Angel Patricio Manautou, stands out. The FIP Gold was held in San Luis in August, while this week, alongside the FIP Promises, the FIP Silver will also be played.
