September 17, 2026
ROME – The CUPRA FIP Tour heads to Türkiye for the FIP Bronze Qnb Cup Izmir. Among the pairs targeting the title are Emilio Sanchez-Arnau Ayats and Fabian Oviedo-Marca Cassetta. The former have already shown their ability to achieve strong results on the circuit: in August, they secured an impressive back-to-back double with victories in the FIP Silver and FIP Bronze events held in Catalonia. Cassetta and Oviedo have also won two titles as a pair in 2026: the FIP Silver Jersey Island and the FIP Bronze Lelystad. Cassetta also tops the all-time CUPRA FIP Tour title-winning list with 16 victories, a record he shares with fellow countryman Flavio Abbate and Spaniards Gonzalo Rubio and Jose Luis Gonzalez. Also in the spotlight in Türkiye are the pairs of Simone Iacovino-Giulio Graziotti and Manuel Vives-Olivier Guy De Chamisso.
The No. 1 seeds in the women’s draw in Izmir, Marcella Koek-Ana Varo, are ready to showcase their talent in Türkiye. Koek has been a champion this year at FIP Silver Pingyuan and at the FIP Bronze Kuala Lumpur and Banten. Varo, meanwhile, became champion at FIP Bronze Chieti at the beginning of July. Their main rivals for the title are Catherine Rose-Rebeca Lopez (2). Also worth keeping an eye on at this CUPRA FIP Tour event in Türkiye are Ekaterina Nikitina-Natalia Molinilla (4) and Nika Sluzhiteleva-Maria Portillo (3).
The main draw of this tournament will begin on Friday 18 september and conclude on Sunday 20 september, when the finals and semi-finals will be played.
