Day2. A magical moment for Riera and Bidahorria: two CUPRA FIP Tour titles, now a Premier Padel round of 16

Virginia Riera and Julieta Bidahorria arrived at the CUPRA Rotterdam Premier Padel P2 on the back of two consecutive CUPRA FIP Tour titles: first the FIP Silver Nairobi, then Houten, where Riera lifted the trophy on her birthday. The two Argentinians’ magical run continued in Rotterdam with a 6-4 6-2 first-round victory over Lara Arruabarrena and Giorgia Marchetti, setting up a round-of-16 clash today against Marina Guinart and Ale Alonso. The day will also see the top four women’s seeds make their debuts: Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay (1) will face Marta Talavan and Jessica Castelló, Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez (2) will take on Alix Collombon and Ksenia Sharifova, Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero (3) will face Lucia Sainz and Sofia Saiz, while Claudia Fernandez and Martina Calvo (4) will play Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga, who triumphed at the FIP Platinum Lyon on Sunday.

 

MEN The world’s best players will also take to the court today in the men’s draw, where qualifiers Teo Zapata and Adrian Naranjo have reached the round of 16, where they will face Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno. Not before 15:00, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will take on Alvaro Montiel and Dani Santigosa, while the central court will also host Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan against Enzo Jensen and David Gala, and Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger against Maxi Arce and Juan Tello, two of the most eagerly awaited matches of the day.
