Great show in Karachi: Lacamoire-Ronco secure back-to-back victories

KARACHI – The first-ever CUPRA FIP Tour tournament in Pakistan was a success. In the men’s draw of FIP Bronze Pakistan I in Karachi, Adrian Ronco and Julian Lacamoire claimed a second consecutive title after their success last week at FIP Bronze Damac in Dubai. The two champions, after defeating Wagdy Raslan-Aly Zaghloul 6-3 6-4 in the semi-finals, beat Pablo Pastor-Agustin Reca in the final at the end of a closely contested match, which ended 6-3 3-6 6-3. Lacamoire added to his list of titles won this season: in June, he secured a prestigious victory at FIP Gold Shanghai. “We achieved our goal for the second weekend in a row,” said Lacamoire. “We are happy with the result and focused on what comes next. Great job, Ronkito, let’s keep going.”

There was also plenty of action in the women’s draw. The pairing of Ainize Santamaria and Gimena Sol Perez won the title, dominating throughout the tournament: they conceded just six games to their opponents. The champions first defeated Gabriela Andrade-Asfa Shahbaz 6-1 6-2 in the semi-finals, before beating Nika Sluzhiteleva-Anastasiia Ryzhova 6-1 6-2 in the final. Santamaria has already won three other titles on the CUPRA FIP Tour this year, at FIP Bronze Joinville, Dakar and Budapest. Like Lacamoire and Ronco Lopez, Sol Perez also became a champion last week at FIP Bronze Dubai.

This tournament wrote another chapter in the history of the CUPRA FIP Tour and padel, as FIP Bronze Pakistan I marked the circuit’s first-ever event in Pakistan. The country is one of 17 new nations that will host, or have already hosted, a tournament on the circuit in 2026.
