New FIP Promises Tour record in Indonesia: 191 NextGen pairs competing in Bandung

BANDUNG – The FIP Promises Tour continues to reach new milestones for NextGen padel, with record-breaking numbers. A total of 191 pairs will compete at the FIP Promises West Java in Bandung, Indonesia, confirming the extraordinary growth of youth padel in Asia. This is a historic record for the FIP circuit dedicated to young talents on the continent, making Bandung the second-largest event of the entire 2026 season in terms of entries, behind only the FIP Promises in Valencia, Spain, held in January, which attracted 214 pairs.

Two boys’ categories have been particularly important in driving these exceptional numbers: the Under 14 category leads the way with 46 pairs entered, followed by Under 16 with 42. In total, eight draws will be played from today until Sunday: four boys’ and four girls’ categories, ranging from Under 12 to Under 18.

“We are extremely proud of this new record; we always strive for excellence in everything we do,” said Galih Dimuntur Kartasasmita, President of PBPI, the Indonesian Padel Association. “We want to continue growing, and it all starts with youth development, which makes tournaments like this crucial. We want to build the future of this sport, and the three FIP Promises tournaments organised in Indonesia are the ideal entry point. We thank the FIP for allowing us to host these competitions. This is just the beginning, and we will continue to work hard.”

The Bandung event is Indonesia’s third FIP Promises tournament since the start of the year and an important opportunity to test preparations ahead of the FIP Junior Asia Padel Cup, which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 7 to 14 November.
