Cyprus I, Abbate and Lopez Diaz make history: they win and become the most successful players in the CUPRA FIP Tour

Flavio Abbate and Nati Lopez Diaz made history in the CUPRA FIP Tour. They won the men’s and women’s draws at the FIP Bronze Cyprus, becoming the players with the most wins in the international circuit.

The Italian, playing with Alvaro Montiel, won again after his title at the FIP Silver in Bristol, reaching ten wins in the CUPRA FIP Tour, like Marco Cassetta. The key win came in the final against the Italian-Spanish team Cordoba-Graziotti, with a score of 6-2 7-5.

“I have no words to describe this feeling. Congratulations to Alvaro, to all the tournament organizers and our opponents. Thanks to everyone who supported us from home and sent messages,” said Abbate after the win.

It was also a record for Nati Lopez Diaz, who played with Lucia Garcia (winner of the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup in Rome and eight tournaments). They won against Betz-Kurz 6-2 6-2. Born in 1997, Lopez Diaz now has nine titles in the international tour, the most by any woman.
