Ayia Napa Protaras Cyprus, Flavio Abbate chasing the record for most wins in the CUPRA FIP Tour

The CUPRA FIP Tour continues to make headlines in Cyprus, after hosting the first-ever FIP Silver there last season. This weekend, the FIP Bronze Ayia Napa will take place with both men’s and women’s draws.

Leading the men’s seeding is the pair Flavio Abbate and Alvaro Montiel, ranked 100 and 108 in the FIP ranking. They are aiming to repeat their victory from the FIP Bronze Cyprus in April. If the Italian wins again, he could become the most successful player in the tour’s history (currently he shares the record of 10 wins with Marco Cassetta). On the other side of the main draw are Manuel Castano and Nicolas Suescun, ranked 118 and 103.

In the women’s draw, the top seeds are Camila Fassio and Monica Gomez, ranked 81 and 69 in the FIP ranking, placed opposite the Spanish pair Lorena Vano and Lucia Peralta.

The tournament will be held in Ayia Napa (Cyprus) from Friday, May 16 to Sunday, May 18, and will award 40 points for the FIP ranking.
