Day 6. Delfi and Bea, a special hug. Lebron, first victory against Galan

The 5,000 people who filled Plaza Mayor enjoyed the Oysho Valladolid Premier Padel P2 show. A fantastic day, with a moment of fair play that reflects the true values of padel and sport. During the second set of the second semi-final of the women’s draw, Delfi Brea was forced to retire: Bea Gonzalez, who had been Delfi’s partner for a long time and was now her opponent, joined her at the exit from the court and hugged her for a long time, with Delfi in tears and the applause of the crowd. Bea and Claudia Fernandez were ahead 7-6 3-1, and tomorrow at 10 a.m. they will play the final against Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, who in the first match of the day had left only three games to Aranzazu Osoro and Martina Calvo (6-2 6-1) and, if they win, would return to number 1 in the world, overtaking Gemma Triay, who was forced to retire due to Brea’s injury.

MEN Fair play in the morning, excitement in the afternoon. For the first time since their separation, Juan Lebron defeated Ale Galan. El Lobo, with Franco Stupaczuk, thus earned the chance to play in the final at Plaza Mayor and win their second title as a pair after the one in Cancun. The semi-final, won by Lebron and Stupaczuk over Chingotto and Galan, lasted two hours and 12 minutes and ended 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, with a decisive tiebreak dominated by the winners (7-1). Lebron and Stupaczuk, in the men’s final to be played not before 12, will face home favourite Arturo Coello, who, as in Rome, stopped Fran Guerrero and Javi Leal’s run, paired with Agustin Tapia, beating them 6-4 6-4 in 57 minutes. Coello and Tapia, like Claudia Fernandez, will therefore have the chance to defend the title they won a year ago at the Polideportivo Pisuerga.
