Day5, women. Four teams still unbeaten, what a battle in Group C!
July 12, 2025
Four teams remain unbeaten in the women’s Phase 2 of the FIP Euro Padel Cup after a packed morning of action at Padel G24 in Madrid, on the penultimate day before the Final 8.
In Group A, Sweden grabbed another 3-0 win, this time over Austria, once again without dropping a set. The Swedes now sit on 4 points, the same as Great Britain, who beat Poland in their first two matches but dropped the third rubber to Nowakowska/Kiszczyńska.
In Group B, the Netherlands keep flying with another 3-0, this time over Croatia. The Oranje have dropped just 8 games in total today. Finland are still in the mix too, with a 3-0 win over Hungary today after their 2-1 win against Croatia yesterday.
In Group D, both Belgium and Denmark scored clean 3-0 victories, Belgium against Estonia and Denmark over Greece. Things were much closer in Group C: Germany came back to beat Norway, with Hering/Plümer taking the decisive third match. Meanwhile, Switzerland sealed their win over Lithuania in the first two rubbers before losing the third to Butrimaite/Buntiene.
Tomorrow is the final day of group play, starting at 10 a.m., with a place in Europe’s top eight up for grabs.
