The draw. More excitement after the FIP World Cup Pairs

After the FIP World Cup Pairs, there is more excitement in store for padel enthusiasts. With the World Cup for pairs in Kuwait now over, the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour returns with the penultimate tournament before the Finals in Barcelona. Dubai will host the last P1 of 2025, preceding the final Major in Mexico: up for grabs are crucial points for the FIP ranking and for the Race leading up to the Finals in Barcelona. Coello and Tapia defend their 2024 title; in the women’s tournament, Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez won.

MEN There will be 48 pairs at the start of the men’s draw, with Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia as the number 1 seeds as always: they will make their debut against wild cards Sergio Icardo and Francisco Jurado or against a qualified pair. On the other side are Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, who, like the other top seeds, will make their debut in the second round: their opponents will be Mario Del Castillo and Pincho Fernandez or Lucho Capra and Aimar Goñi. Dubai will be the last tournament for Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk (3), who will face José Jimenez and Maxi Sanchez Blasco or two qualifiers in their debut. The number 4 seeds will be Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas, drawn in the upper half of the draw against Xisco Gil and Maxi Sanchez or Diego Garcia and Salva Oria. Possible quarter-finals: Coello/Tapia (1)-Leal/Bergamini (7), Gonzalez/Guerrero (8)-Nieto/Yanguas (4), Lebron/Stupaczuk (3)-Di Nenno/Augsburger (6), Sanz/Navarro (5)-Chingotto/Galan (2).

WOMEN Twenty-eight pairs will compete in the women’s tournament, with Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay seeded number 1 and, like the other three pairs (Josemaria/Sanchez, Fernandez/Gonzalez and Ustero/Araujo), making their debut directly in the round of 16. Delfi and Gemma will face Caldera/Goenaga or Talavan/Saiz in their first match, while Paula and Ari will take on Fassio/Llaguno or Arruabarrena/Bidahorria. These are the hypothetical quarter-finals: Brea/Triay (1)-Guinart/Virseda (8), Alonso/Jensen (6)-Ustero/Araujo (4), Fernandez/Gonzalez (3)-Ortega/Icardo (5), Salazar/Calvo (7)-Josemaria/Sanchez (2).
