Day 4. Garrido-Campagnolo pull off the upset. Lebron-Stupa gift themselves another night

The match that closed the Premier Padel Dubai P1 quarterfinal program was the most anticipated one, because the players who were opponents today will be partners in just a few days. Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk will be the two players who will step on court together at least one more time: the No. 3 seeds defeated Martin Di Nenno and Leo Augsburger 4-6 6-3 7-6, ending their run today. Lebron and Stupaczuk will instead play tomorrow’s semifinal against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, who eliminated Edu Alonso and Juan Tello 7-6 6-4 in 1 hour and 47 minutes. In the top half of the men’s draw, not before 8 p.m. local time (5 p.m. CET), Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia – who beat Javi Leal and Lucas Bergamini 6-1 6-2 in just 46 minutes – will face the surprise pair of the week, Javi Garrido and Lucas Campagnolo, the No. 13 seeds, who edged out Momo Gonzalez and Fran Guerrero 6-4 6-7 6-4 after 2 hours and 17 minutes.

WOMEN The women’s quarterfinal lineup went according to the predictions: the top four seeds will battle in tomorrow’s semifinals, starting at 4 p.m. local time (1 p.m. CET). While Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, Claudia Fernandez and Bea Gonzalez, and Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo all won their matches in straight sets, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez stayed on court for more than two and a half hours before overcoming Ale Salazarand Martina Calvo. The final score was 6-3 3-6 7-5, with the world champions now set to face Fernandez/Gonzalez. In the top half, it will be Brea/Triay vs. Ustero/Araujo.
