Naples, Orsi and Cassetta chasing the title at home

An Italian top player opens the women’s draw of the FIP Silver in Naples. After last season’s FIP Rise victory, the CUPRA FIP Tour returns to the Italian city with Carolina Orsi forming the No. 1 seeded pair alongside Araceli Martinez. In the bottom half of the draw are two opponents who have both played with the Italian in the past: Nuria Rodriguez — coming off her win at the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup in Perugia — and Marina Lobo. Also returning to the courts of the Mostra d’Oltremare is Caterina Baldi, last year’s champion together with Giulia Dal Pozzo, this time competing with Clarissa Aima. Among Orsi’s national teammates are also Martina Parmigiani and Emily Stellato, the No. 4 seeds.

In the men’s tournament, the spotlight is on Mario Del Castillo and Antonio Fernandez, aiming for their second consecutive title after their victory at the FIP Silver in Oporto. Chasing the top seeds are Andres Fernandez Lancha and Mario Ortega, while among the local crowd favourites stands Marco Cassetta, partnering with Jose Luis Gonzalez and seeking revenge after narrowly losing the final at the Kaunas FIP Bronze in Lithuania.
