José Jimenez and Maxi Sanchez Blasco are the headline men of the second day of the CUPRA FIP Finals in Shanghai: the Spaniard and the Argentine defeated top seeds Edu Alonso and Jairo Bautista in straight sets (6-1, 6-3). In the semifinals, Jimenez and Sanchez will face José Diestro and Javi Garcia (6-2, 6-4 against Cordoba/Sanchez). The semifinal in the bottom half will feature Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado (6-4, 6-3 against Insa/Roglan) against Javi Garrido and Alvaro Cepero, the number 4 seeds who advanced thanks to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Ronco/Lacamoire.

WOMEN Competing in the semifinals of the women’s draw will be the top four seeded pairs: in the top half, Aranzazu Osoro and Claudia Jensen (1) will face Lorena Rufo and Jessica Castelló (3), and in the other half, Patty Llaguno and Martina Fassio (2) will take on Nuria Rodriguez and Marina Lobo (4). The wins for all four top-seeded teams came in straight sets.
