The draws. Superpibes immediately against Lebron and Augsburger, Nieto versus Sanz!
December 4, 2025
It was Agustin Tapia who drew the most exciting matchup in the quarterfinals of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals, which start in one week at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger will face Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno right away: the draw at Metropolitan Iradier, with Tapia and Andrea Ustero as special guests of the ceremony, has set the path to the title won last year by Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz in the men’s category (who will meet in the quarterfinals this year) and by Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez in the women’s category. “Last year we were one point away from winning, and since it is a trophy. I have never lifted, I am very eager to come back and fight for it”, said Tapia. Catalan player Andrea Ustero will play at home in Barcelona for the second consecutive year: “It is an honor to be back in Barcelona; it feels like home, and I’m very happy to have qualified. This is what I work for all year.”
THE WORDS “We are very happy to be in Barcelona for these Finals – said Ramon Morcillo, President of the Spanish Padel Federation –. Padel continues to grow unstoppable in Spain, as shown by the numbers from the Premier Padel, CUPRA FIP Tour, and FIP Promises circuits. More and more people are practicing this sport and following elite competitions”. Premier Padel General Manager David Serrahima reflected on the 2025 season, also looking ahead to next year: “It has been an excellent year for the circuit; we arrive in Barcelona with great enthusiasm and are already working on new initiatives for next year that will further strengthen Premier Padel”. Finally, Joan Cuscó, President of Octagon Spain, highlighted the extraordinary expectations surrounding this edition: “Saturday tickets are sold out, and Sunday is almost gone. We approach these Finals with enormous energy and the ambition to surpass last year’s experience in every aspect”.
