Australian Padel Open, what a start to 2026 for Carla Fernandez and Nerea Guerra!

Two wins out of two in the first tournaments of the CUPRA FIP Tour 2026: this is the perfect start to the season for Carla Fernandez and Nerea Guerra. After last week’s success at the FIP Bronze Melbourne Padel Open, the Spanish pair repeated their victory at the FIP Silver Australian Padel Open (the fourth career win in Australia for Nerea Guerra).

“We did it again,” said Carla Fernandez after the award ceremony. “I am proud of this second consecutive win and I want to thank Nerea for these wonderful weeks together, in which we had a lot of fun. I also thank all the people who came to support us during these days.”

The two Spanish players won the final 6-2 6-3 against the pair formed by the German Victoria Kurz and Eugenia Guimet, who in the semifinals had beaten the Olympic champion Sara Errani, on court in Melbourne together with Manuela Schuck. “Playing this tournament was a great emotion, I enjoyed it a lot,” said the Italian tennis player. “It was a great pleasure to play with a champion like you, I hope we can do it again soon,” replied the Brazilian player.

In the men’s draw, Miguel Morales and Jordi Casanova won thanks to a 7-5 6-4 victory in the final against Figuerola–Belmont, the number two seeded pair. Next weekend, the CUPRA FIP Tour will continue with three new events between Europe and Asia: the FIP Silver Caen (France), the FIP Bronze Mallorca (Spain) and the FIP Bronze Mumbai (India).
