Wadi Padel Tournament, Gonzalez-Fernandez ready to make their move in Egypt
February 11, 2026
One title and one final in their first two tournaments of 2026. Jose Luiz Gonzalez and Antonio “Pincho” Fernandez are looking to keep the momentum going in their third event of the season, this time at the FIP Silver Wadi Padel Tournament, taking place until Saturday in Egypt. The Spanish pair top the men’s draw as clear favorites —while the women compete in a FIP Bronze event— thanks to their title in Mallorca last month and the final they narrowly missed in Bahrain earlier this month.
Chasing the top seeds is Victor Mena, back on court after reaching the semifinals at the FIP Bronze in Doha, now teaming up with Marcos Gonzalez, who kicks off his 2026 season in Egypt.
Also among the seeded teams is 2007-born rising star Alejandro Calvo, partnering Nicolas Suescun (3), along with French internationals Johan Bergeron and Timeo Fonteny. The latter is ready to return to action: “Motivated to take on this new challenge against a very competitive field”, he said just hours before his debut.
