Newgiza crowns Egypt’s NextGen

At the Newgiza Sports Club, celebrations for the number one in the FIP Promises Africa Under 18 ranking, Mohamed Atef Shebl. Together with Zain Elbialy, the Egyptian claimed the FIP Promises Newgiza title, defeating the pair El-Hamamy/Kalawy in the final. In the girls’ event of the same age group, the title went to Malak Amer and Lily Wael, who beat the top seeds, Hana Elshalkany and Salma Elzaya, in the decisive match (6-2 6-4), the latter having reached the final without dropping a set.

 

A memorable tournament also for other local talents: Martin Mounir won the Under 16 boys’ title alongside Zain Elbialy, while in the girls’ event the trophy went to Jaya Omar Youssef together with Lily Wael, whose double success confirms her as leader of the FIP Promises Africa Under 16 girls’ ranking. In the Under 14 boys, victory for Aley Eino and Nabil Abouhamda, while the Under 12 title went to Saed Abdelhady/Youssef Alaa.
