The draws. Brea and Triay return to where it all began

Following the opening week in Riyadh, the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour 2026 now returns to Europe. Gijon hosts the first P2 of the season, with Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay returning to where it all began: it was in Spain that the current No. 1 seeds in the women’s draw won their first tournament together. In Gijon, Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay will also attempt to secure a title that has eluded them since October, when the Argentine and the Spaniard triumphed in Rotterdam. A total of 24 pairs will compete in the women’s tournament, with the eight seeded pairs entering directly in the round of 16: for Brea and Triay, either Fassio/Llaguno or Barrera/Velasco. Andrea Ustero and Ari Sanchez, the No. 3 seeds, are targeting a second consecutive title following their victory in Riyadh and will face either Riera/Navarro or a qualifying pair in the round of 16. Potential quarter-finals: Brea/Triay (1) v Ortega/Calvo (6), Icardo/Jensen (5) v Fernandez/Araujo (4), Sanchez/Ustero (3) v Guinart/Virseda (8), Salazar/Alonso (7) v Fernandez-Gonzalez (2).

 

 

MEN In 2025 in Gijon, the trophy was lifted by the young Curro Cabeza and Diego Garcia. This year, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia head the entry list, following their opening-season victory in Riyadh. A total of 28 pairs will compete in the men’s tournament, with the top four seeds receiving a bye into the round of 16. For Coello and Tapia, the opening match will be against either a qualifying pair or the wild cards Garcia Trabanco/Lamperti; Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan will face either Gonzalo Rubio and Javi Ruiz or a pair from the qualifiers. Potential quarter-finals: Coello/Tapia (1) v Gonzalez/Di Nenno (7), Guerrero/Navarro (5) v Yanguas/Stupaczuk (3), Lebron/Augsburger (4) v Sanz/Nieto (6, for Coki it will be his seasonal debut), Garrido/Bergamini (8) v Chingotto/Galan (2).
