Hong Kong, Four players and one ambition: a first CUPRA FIP Tour title
March 17, 2026
The FIP Bronze GO PARK in Hong Kong could prove to be a tournament of firsts. Pablo Reina and Héctor Vázquez (4) are aiming to secure their first CUPRA FIP Tour title in China. Both have come close before: Reina reached the final of this year’s FIP Bronze in Doha, while Vázquez made it to the final of the FIP Silver in Chengdu, China, last July. Also seeking their first success on the CUPRA FIP Tour are Alejandro Calvo and Mateo Rivero, who will compete alongside Jairo Guerrero and Manuel Gayone respectively. The favourites for the title, however, are the top seeds Pedro Araujo and Pedro Graça, who recently played a key role in Portugal’s silver medal at the FIP Euro Padel Cup. The Portuguese pair have already won a title together, the FIP Bronze in Madeira last November. This will be an international tournament in scope, with 143 players representing 26 nations.
In the women’s draw, the leading contenders for the title are Carla Fitó–Nika Sluzhiteleva (1) and Patricia Araus–Cristina Carrascosa (2). In November 2025, Fitó and Araus won the FIP Bronze in Hong Kong together, defeating Guilherme Coelho and Alena Vasileva in the final (6-1 6-2). Carrascosa has also secured a FIP Bronze title in her career, winning in Esbjerg, Denmark, last year. These two pairs could only meet in the final. Another pair in contention for the title is Carmen Azcoitia and Catherine Rose (4), the latter having won the FIP Bronze in Singapore in March. In the lower half of the draw are Venise Chan and María Portillo, who at the beginning of the month claimed the FIP Bronze in Alexandria, Egypt.
