Hexagon World Series brings padel to the heart of Formula E’s historic race in Madrid
  • Renowned athletes such as Raúl Asencio and racing drivers Felipe Drugovich, Joel Erikson and Zak O’Sullivan shared a court in an experience that introduced padel to new audiences.

  • Hundreds of fans had the chance to play padel at an event that drew more than 30,000 spectators to the Jarama Circuit.

The Hexagon World Series, the first official team padel circuit governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP), brought padel to the Jarama Circuit during Formula E’s historic first race in Madrid, where a purpose-built court introduced the sport to thousands of fans. More than 30,000 spectators attended the event, turning the activation into part of one of the most distinctive motorsport experiences held in Spain in recent years.

The event brought together elite sport and entertainment in a unique setting, attended by His Majesty King Felipe VI. Simulators, live performances by artists such as Omar Montes and DJ Nano, and multiple fan activations created a vibrant atmosphere throughout the circuit, with the Hexagon World Series court emerging as one of the standout attractions of the day.

Hundreds of fans had the opportunity to play padel right in the heart of Formula E, in a concept that blended sport, leisure and motorsport in a single setting. The court, built and installed by Portico, became one of the most dynamic areas of the event, attracting both fans and personalities from the worlds of sport and entertainment.

Among the notable attendees, Real Madrid player Raúl Asencio sank his teeth once again into padel after attending the GENERALI Hexagon Cup 2026 at the Caja Mágica as a fan. The footballer did not miss the opportunity to step onto the court before immersing himself in the Formula E atmosphere.

The experience went beyond the paddock itself. Three Formula E drivers tried padel for the first time on the Hexagon World Series court. The current Andretti driver and former reserve driver for Aston Martin Formula 1 Team, Felipe Drugovich, enjoyed the experience, as did Joel Erikson and Zak O’Sullivan from Envision Racing. The trio took part in different challenges on the 20×10 court, showing flashes of quality and a growing interest in the sport.

Well-known figures from the padel world, such as Delantero 09 and coach Manu Martín, also visited the court, sharing moments with fans and further boosting visibility for the activation.

On Saturday, race day, the court saw a constant flow of visitors. Hundreds of guests took the opportunity to play, unwind and take part in various activities with prizes, consolidating the activation as one of the most attractive areas of the event.

The on-track highlight of the day was the victory of António Félix da Costa, who was visibly emotional after winning at the iconic Jarama Circuit where he was supported by more than 80 family members and friends.

With this initiative, Hexagon World Series continues to strengthen its position as a driver of padel’s growth through innovative experiences, bringing the sport to new settings and connecting it with diverse audiences at top-level events.
