The Arroyo-Martinez pair dominate in London

No sets dropped throughout the tournament and the title secured: Álex Arroyo and Javi Martinez dominated the FIP Silver HOP London Padel Open. These two players, after defeating Álvaro Cepero-Agustín Torre in the semi-finals (6-3 6-4), overcame in the final the pair who had won the 2026 FIP Silver in Espoo, Finland: Pol Hernández-Guillermo Collado (6-4 6-3). Arroyo had already achieved a major result this season: partnering Tolito Aguirre, he reached the semi-finals at the P2 in Cancún. “We have become champions of the FIP Silver in London – said Martinez after the triumph – Alex, you are great”.

In the women’s draw, the top seeds, Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo, claimed the title. As in the case of the men’s winners, they also celebrated without dropping a single set throughout the tournament. They defeated in the final Carla Touly and Amanda López (6-1 6-4), while in the previous round they had comfortably overcome Marta Caparrós and Julieta Bidahorria (6-3 6-2), winners in April of the FIP Silver in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. For them, the last few months have been marked by excellent results: finalists at the FIP Gold in Almaty, they reached the round of 16 at the Premier Padel P1 in Buenos Aires and the quarter-finals at the P2 in Brussels.

The FIP Silver in London plays a very important role as it is another step towards the first historic Premier Padel P1 in London: earlier this month, the city had already hosted the FIP Bronze in London.
