Lyon, FIP Race points up for grabs in France. Stupaczuk-Sanz and Salazar-Osoro lead the way

FIP Race to the Premier Padel Finals in Barcelona has now entered a decisive phase. That is why the 300 points on offer from Wednesday to Sunday at the FIP Platinum Lyon could prove important for all the players hoping to secure their place at the Palau Sant Jordi. Five days of top-level Padel between the Palais des Sports de Gerland and All In Country, with some of the world’s best players competing for the titles won in 2025 by Alex Ruiz and Juanlu Esbri, and by Ale Salazar and Martina Calvo. Lyon will host the fourth FIP Platinum of 2026, following Marseille, Tirana and Paredes. Before the Finals, one more event will be held in Aguascalientes, Mexico, during the week preceding the Acapulco Major.

 

MEN The number 1 seeds in the men’s draw will be Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz, already winners of the FIP Gold Belgrade, with Stupa having also lifted the trophy at the FIP Platinum Tirana alongside Mike Yanguas. On the other side of the draw are Javi Leal and Fran Guerrero, while Martin Di Nenno will partner Juan Tello. Momo Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo complete the quartet of seeded pairs that will enter the competition in the round of 16 of a 28-pair draw.

 

WOMEN It was in Lyon one year ago that Ale Salazar won her most recent title. The Spanish legend, who triumphed alongside Calvo in 2025, returns to Lyon this year with Aranzazu Osoro. There is great curiosity surrounding the new partnership between Ale Alonso and Giulia Dal Pozzo. More established are the number 3 seeds, Carmen Goenaga and Bea Caldera, and the number 4 seeds, Lorena Rufo and Jessica Castelló, runners-up at last weekend’s FIP Gold São Paulo.

 

FRENCH PLAYERS The home crowd will be cheering for Thomas Leygue, who reached the round of 16 at the Paris Major alongside Jesus Moya. The other French players are Timeo Fonteny, partnering Nacho Moragues, and Dylan Guichard, alongside Adam Axelsson. In the women’s draw, Alix Collombon will play with Ksenia Sharifova, while Lea Godallier will partner Daiara Valenzuela. Also competing are Louise Bahurel alongside Spain’s Ivet Val Lopez, as well as the wild cards Steffi Merah and Charlotte Soubrie, and Marie-Amelie Dardaine and Clara Mansart.
