Dubai back in the spotlight: players from more than 30 countries taking to the court

DUBAI – The CUPRA FIP Tour returns to the United Arab Emirates for its fourth event of the season, back in Dubai, where the FIP Bronze Damac main draws will get under way on Thursday. More than 30 countries will be represented at the tournament: alongside the strong presence from the Middle East – UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iran – the World Padel Academy will also welcome players from Europe – from Italy to Great Britain, from Spain to Finland – as well as from North and South America and Southeast Asia.

 

There will be 32 pairs in the men’s draw. Leading the entry list are Spaniard Pablo Vicente and Argentine Nacho Archieri, back on court just a few days after reaching the FIP Silver final in Bangkok. In the bottom half of the draw, Mexican talent Diego Arredondo stands out alongside Italian Nicolas Zurita. Ronco/Lacamoire (3) and Huete/Muñoz (4) are also chasing the title. In the women’s tournament, Rebeca Lopez and Nika Sluzhiteleva (1) lead the entry list, ahead of Patricia Ribeiro and Mafalda Marques (2), and Martina Minetti and Constança Gorito (3). Following Thursday’s Day 1, the second round and quarter-finals will be played on Friday; the semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday, while the finals will take place on Sunday.
