The same champions as in Paris triumph in the Netherlands: Coello-Tapia and Sanchez-Ustero take the titles

From France to the Netherlands, from Paris to Rotterdam, from a Major to a P2: the same pairs that triumphed at Roland Garros celebrated victory and 600 points in the FIP Ranking and the Race to the Finals in Barcelona. It was a second consecutive title for Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero (their fourth of the season overall), while Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia claimed their tenth title of 2026, making the perfect start to a run of three tournaments in three weeks that continues on Tuesday with the Düsseldorf P2 and then the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1.

WOMEN Sanchez and Ustero, who had eliminated the number 1 seeds, Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, in the semi-finals, also overcame the number 2 seeds, beating Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez 6-4 6-4 in one hour and 41 minutes. Josemaria and Gonzalez managed to immediately recover the break in both sets, but it was not enough. “We have worked very hard to play these kinds of matches,” said Andrea. “It was not easy to beat the top two seeds at the same tournament, but this should give us even more motivation to keep working, also thanks to the support of our team and our families”. Ari, meanwhile, celebrated her 100th career final in the best possible way: “I’m super happy. To win these matches, you have to stay focused all the time, and we did that. Winning two finals in a row was a goal: this title means so much, we are in a very good moment and we have to keep making the most of it. I had some difficult moments during the match, but Andrea was extraordinary: she is getting stronger and stronger”.

MEN Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia also triumphed in straight sets, taking one hour and nine minutes to beat Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz 6-3 6-2. The early break for Stupaczuk and Sanz suggested a more balanced final, but the world number ones gradually pulled away. They finished with just two more unforced errors (22 to 20), but hit 14 more winners than their opponents (41 to 27). “It’s fantastic to play padel with this atmosphere”, said Coello. “Congratulations to the crowd, and congratulations to Franco and Jon for reaching the final. We had to give our best to win. We did well to find the solutions quickly, and that makes us really proud”. “We have three tournaments in a row, so it’s essential to take it one match at a time,” added Tapia. “We played this one very well, but we have to stay focused on the next challenges”.
