At CASTELLO in Düsseldorf, the eagerly awaited semi-finals will take place on Saturday from 2 pm. The CUPRA Germany P2 has reached the weekend with the top four pairs still in contention in both the men’s and women’s draws. Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan in the men’s event, and Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay in the women’s, will be looking to defend the titles they won in 2025. WOMEN The women’s semi-finals will be the same as those played a week ago in Rotterdam, where the number 2 and number 3 seeds reached the final. Brea and Triay, along with Claudia Fernandez and Martina Calvo (4), will be seeking revenge. After beating Claudia Jensen and Noa Canovas 6-3 6-1, Delfi and Gemma will have the task of stopping Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero, who won in Paris and Rotterdam and continued their run today with a 6-1 6-1 victory over Ale Salazar and Aranzazu Osoro. The semi-final opening the day’s play at 2 pm CEST will see Fernandez/Calvo, who beat Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo 6-0 6-3, take on Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez. The latter needed just 53 minutes to concede only one game to Marina Guinart and Ale Alonso, winning 6-0 6-1.
MEN After their quarter-final exits in Rotterdam, both the ‘Chingalan’ pair and Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger have reached the semi-finals this time. The defending champions beat Maxi Sanchez Blasco and Sanyo Gutierrez 6-4 6-1, while the number 3 seeds had won 6-3 6-3 against Maxi Arce and Juan Tello. The reigning champions will face Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz in the evening, after they wrapped up the day with a 6-3 6-3 win over Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno. The semi-final in the top half of the draw will see Lebron/Augsburger take on Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, who beat Gonza Alfonso and Tino Libaak 6-2 7-5.
