Abu Dhabi/London/Madrid, 21 October 2026 – Hexagon World Series has officially unveiled its plans for the 2027 season, announcing an international calendar spanning four events across three continents, confirming an eight-team competition, with seven teams officially unveiled and an eighth to be revealed, and introducing a revolutionary new competition format that replaces traditional scoring with a faster-paced system designed to transform the fan experience.

The announcements were made during the official season launch at the iconic Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi, attended by Enrique Buenaventura, Hexagon World Series Co-Founder & Hexagon Cup Founder, and Gary Davidson, Hexagon World Series Co-Founder.

The event marked a significant milestone in the evolution of Hexagon Cup into Hexagon World Series, the first officially sanctioned professional team padel circuit governed by the FIP, featuring teams owned by celebrities from the worlds of sport and entertainment.

Building on three successful editions of Hexagon Cup in Madrid, the competition has experienced consistent growth since its launch in 2024, expanding from six to eight teams in 2025 and attracting more than 37,000 spectators in 2026.

This upward trajectory now sets the stage for its international expansion in 2027, with four events scheduled across Europe, North America and the Middle East, including Abu Dhabi, which has been officially confirmed as the host of the season finale.

Four events across three continents, with Abu Dhabi Hosting the season Finale

The inaugural international season will feature four events across three continents, bringing Hexagon World Series to four countries for the first time.

  • Madrid, Spain: 21–24 January 2027
  • North America: March 2027
  • Scandinavia: June 2027
  • Abu Dhabi, UAE: 21–24 October 2027

Madrid will open the season with GENERALI Hexagon Cup Madrid at Caja Mágica, before the competition travels to North America in March, bringing its team-based format to a region with a strong connection to padel’s origins and continued development.

Scandinavia will welcome the third event in June, marking the competition’s debut in Northern Europe and reflecting the growing popularity of padel across the region.

The season will culminate in Abu Dhabi from 21 to 24 October 2027, with the UAE capital officially confirmed as the host city for the fourth and final event of the year.

The announcement marks the arrival of Hexagon World Series in the Middle East for the first time, bringing some of the world’s leading professional padel players and international teams to Abu Dhabi for the conclusion of the season.

As the final stop on the calendar, Abu Dhabi will also provide the stage for the crowning of the inaugural Hexagon World Series overall champion, with the results accumulated across all four events determining the final team standings.

The host cities for the North American and Scandinavian events will be officially revealed in due course.

Eight teams set to compete in 2027, with Dalma Team joining the line-up and one final team yet to be revealed

Hexagon World Series will feature eight teams, with seven franchises officially unveiled and the identity of the eighth team to be announced at a later date.

The confirmed line-up includes AD/vantage Padel Team, champions in 2024 and 2026 and backed by Andy Murray, Anthony Joshua, Dani Vallverdú and Arran Yentob; and KRÜ Padel by Taktika, the 2025 champions led by Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero.

The five other announced teams are ElevenEleven Team USA, backed by Eva Longoria; Rafa Nadal Academy Team; Team Bella Puerto Rico, backed by María Esteve and Carlos López-Lay; X Padel, backed by Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly and entrepreneur Loïc Féry; and Dalma Team, the newly established franchise that will represent the UAE capital throughout the 2027 season.

With seven teams now unveiled, attention turns to the final place on the grid. The identity of the eighth team remains a closely guarded secret, with Hexagon World Series set to reveal the final franchise in a separate announcement.

Each team will feature one men’s pair and one women’s pair, which will equally contribute points to the Teams official world ranking, and continue Hexagon’s history of delivering equal prize money for male and female players. Individual player line-ups will be announced over the coming weeks.

A new competition format designed for fans

Alongside its international expansion, Hexagon World Series has unveiled a revolutionary new competition and match format for 2027, designed to deliver faster-paced action, more decisive moments and an engaging experience for fans.

In a significant departure from traditional padel scoring in collaboration with the official global governing body, matches will be played as the best of five Super Tie-Breaks, replacing conventional games and sets. The first four Super Tie-Breaks will be played to ten points, with a deciding fifth, if required, played to six points. The format will retain the Star Point as the decisive point when a Super Tie-Break reaches 10-10.

The competition will feature eight teams divided into two groups of four at each event. Every head-to-head encounter will consist of one men’s match and one women’s match, with both carrying equal sporting weight. Following the group stage, teams will compete in a final round based on their finishing position in the group stage, to determine their finishing positions.

For the first time, all four events will be connected through a single season-long ranking, with teams accumulating points based on their results in each of the four events, contributing towards the overall Hexagon World Series & Team World Championship standings. Individual tournament winners will earn 25 points, runners-up 18 points, third place 15 points, followed by 12, 9, 6, 3 and 0 points for teams finishing fourth through eighth respectively.

The new structure combines elite professional padel with a dynamic and accessible viewing experience, while creating a continuous sporting narrative throughout the international season.
