INTERNATIONAL PADEL FEDERATION
About the International Padel Federation (FIP)
The International Padel Federation (FIP) is the world governing body of Padel.
Its mission is to foster the growth and development of the sport at all levels and ages, from grassroots to professional, to govern Padel through the affiliation of national member federations and regional associations, and to promote Padel’s inclusion in the Olympic Games, the highest honour for any sport.
FIP currently comprises 100 affiliated National Federations across all five continents. The Federation establishes the official rules of the sport and manages the official international rankings.
FIP also governs and coordinates the international competition calendar, including elite professional tours such as Premier Padel, Hexagon World Series and the CUPRA FIP Tour; dedicated tours for youth players (FIP Promises) and amateur players (FIP Beyond); and continental and world team competitions, including the World Cup.
In addition, FIP is the official education provider for coaches and referees through FIP Academy, a dedicated training platform delivering official courses and certifications.
FIP World & Continental events
The International Padel Federation (FIP) organizes World and Continental championships for teams and pairs across professional, senior, and junior levels in both men’s and women’s categories. These prestigious events take place every two years.
Since the inaugural professional World Championships in 1992, 17 editions have been held—6 in Europe, 8 in the Americas, and 3 in Asia.
At the junior level, 14 editions have taken place since 2000, while the senior category has seen 3 editions since its introduction in 2018.
Premier Padel is the leading official professional padel tour worldwide, founded by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) together with the International Padel Federation (FIP) and the Professional Padel Association (PPA).
Launched in 2022, over 500 players from around the world competed in Premier Padel tournaments.
Over 110 leading professional female players joined Premier Padel in March 2023 through the International Padel Players Association (IPPA).
In August 2023, it was announced that QSI would acquire World Padel Tour (WPT) to create a single global professional padel tour – called Premier Padel – governed by FIP.
Launched in June 2019, the FIP circuit—rebranded as the CUPRA FIP Tour in 2020—was created to support the global growth of padel. It provides players from emerging nations the opportunity to compete internationally, earn FIP ranking points, and develop their professional careers.
Starting in 2025, the CUPRA FIP Tour features four tournament categories based on ranking points and conditions: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
To date, over 500 tournaments have been hosted across 190 locations in 44 countries spanning all five continents.
The Hexagon World Series is the official global team‑based Padel circuit recognized and governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and fully integrated into the official FIP calendar. Established through a strategic alliance between Hexagon Cup, FIP and 54, the Hexagon World Series is the first FIP‑sanctioned world circuit of team competitions, held across multiple international venues each season. Complementing the CUPRA FIP Tour and Premier Padel, the Hexagon World Series strengthens the federative professional structure of Padel and supports its global development.
In 2021, FIP introduced the FIP Promises, a youth circuit designed for Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 boys and girls. Initially launched as FIP Promises Europe, the competition expanded internationally in 2022.
Starting in 2025, a new Under-12 category will be added, further strengthening the pathway for young talent. Since its inception, the circuit has hosted over 80 combined tournaments for boys and girls worldwide.
FIP Beyond is the official global amateur Padel tour governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP). It is open to amateur players across different categories and levels and applies standardized rules and competition formats, connecting amateur participation to the official international Padel structure, supporting consistent and sustainable global development
