Vila Real De Santo Antonio, Barahona-Garcia looking for a third win in Portugal

The CUPRA FIP Tour is back in Portugal. This weekend, the FIP Silver Vila Real De Santo Antonio will take place, with both men’s and women’s competitions. It’s a high-level tournament, with many players ranked in the top 30 of the FIP rankings.

The top seeds in the men’s draw are Javier Barahona and Javier Garcia, ranked 23 and 30 in the FIP rankings. They recently won the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup in Rome and the FIP Silver Bmw Marmotor 25 Aniversario Club La Calzada. On the other side of the draw are Ignacio Sager and Lucas Campagnolo, ranked 50 and 26 in the world.

In the women’s draw, the top seeds are Marina Guinart and Victoria Iglesias, who won the CUPRA FIP Finals in December 2024. They are ranked 21 and 25 and are in the opposite half of the draw from Marta Talavan (ranked 40) and Ksenia Sharifova (ranked 26), who won the FIP Silver in Dubai in April.

The tournament will be held in Vila Real de Santo Antonio (Portugal) from Thursday, May 8 to Sunday, May 11, and will award 80 points for the FIP ranking.
