Agrigento, third title of 2026 for Teresa Navarro and Virginia Riera

Following their victories at the FIP Silver Bahrain and the FIP Silver Damac Dubai, Teresa Navarro (52) and Virginia Riera (33) claimed their third CUPRA FIP Tour title of 2026 by winning the FIP Bronze Agrigento. For the top-seeded pair in the women’s draw, the decisive result was a 7-5 7-5 victory in the final against home players Emily Stellato (113) and Giulia Sussarello (121).

 

“Winning this tournament here in Agrigento is a great emotion. Now we must continue in this way and improve further, because there is no time to lose as we will be on court on Wednesday at the Gijón P2,” said Virginia Riera at the end of the prize-giving ceremony.

 

In the men’s draw, the title went to Alfonso Rodriguez (66) and Juani De Pascual (95), who secured a 6-0 3-6 7-5 victory in the final against Italians Alvaro Montiel (78) and Flavio Abbate (73), winners last week of another FIP Bronze, the event held in Agadir (Morocco).
