Together they have written the history of padel. They have won 44 titles, including 17 Premier Padel titles; they are the current holders of the FIP World Cup Pairs; they remained continuously at the top of the FIP ranking from 15 May 2023 to 25 May 2025, and subsequently from 2 to 15 June and from 30 July to 6 August last year. Tomorrow at 12:00, however, Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez will face each other as opponents, and it will be the first time since 2020, when the legend of Paula and Ari had yet to begin. It will happen in Gijon, at the first P2 of the season, after in the two quarter-finals in the bottom half of the draw Paulita and Bea Gonzalez defeated 6-2 6-3 Ale Salazar and Ale Alonso, and Ari and Andrea Ustero did the same with a 6-3 7-5 victory over Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda. In the top half, the semi-final will be between Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay (3-6 6-4 6-4 comeback win over Marta Ortega and Martina Calvo) and the pair formed by Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen, who eliminated Claudia Fernandez and Sofia Araujo 6-4 7-5.
MEN In the men’s draw, meanwhile, the outstanding week of Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz continues, as they defeated Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger in two sets (7-5 7-6). Nieto and Sanz will now face Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (6-2 6-1 against Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini). The other semi-final will be between Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia (6-3 6-1 over Martin Di Nenno and Momo Gonzalez) and Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas, who closed the week of Edu Alonso and Juan Tello with a score of 6-4 6-2.
