Day5. Lebron–Augsburger, the second final is special. Triay reaches 100
April 25, 2026
In Cancun, the tournament where they reached their first final as a pair, Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger played for the title after defeating Sanyo Gutierrez and Gonza Alfonso. The final of the Lotto Brussels Premier Padel P2, however, carries a special significance, as it comes against the pair (Chingotto/Galan) that has won the most tournaments in 2026, one of the two pairs that have dominated the circuit since 2024, and against a player – Ale Galan – with whom ‘el Lobo’ has written part of padel history. A double 6-4 victory in one hour and 18 minutes sends Lebron and Augsburger into the final against Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, winners in Riyadh and in Cancun, but who have consistently faced difficulties against Lebron and Augsburger. For the world number ones, it was one closely contested set and one controlled set (7-5 6-2) against Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas.
WOMEN While the men’s final will not start before 16:00, the afternoon session will open at 14:00 with the fourth consecutive final between Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay and Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez. Both pairs, however, required three sets: Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez to defeat Claudia Fernandez and Sofia Araujo 3-6 6-3 6-0, and Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay to overcome Claudia Jensen and Tamara Icardo 6-3 5-7 6-1. The head-to-head record stands at two wins for Josemaria and Gonzalez (Miami and Newgiza) and one for Brea and Triay (Cancun), with Gemma Triay set to play her 100th professional final. A new great rivalry may be emerging.
