Eidsvoll crowns Luján: the spaniard reaches 13 titles on the CUPRA FIP Tour

Thanks to her success in Eidsvoll, Norway, Laura Luján has drawn level with Lucia Garcia at the top of the all-time rankings for titles won (13) on the CUPRA FIP Tour. The Spaniard claimed victory at the FIP Bronze S4Sport Open partnering Julia Polo, no. 51 in the FIP Ranking. In the final, the pair convincingly defeated Ana Cristina Sánchez and Natalia Molinilla (6-1 6-2), having earlier overcome Maaike Betz and Liza Groenveld in the semi-finals (6-2 6-2). The champions did not concede a single set throughout the tournament. For both players, this marks their first title of the year on this circuit.
In the men’s draw, a major success for Nuno Deus and Pedro Perry. The two Portuguese players became champions in their first tournament together. In the final, they defeated Sten Richters and Pau Miñano Ortinez (6-1 6-4), having previously edged past brothers Pedro and Álvaro Mélendez in a closely contested semi-final (7-6 7-6). For Perry, a finalist at the FIP Silver in Parma in March, and for Deus, this represents their first title of the year on the CUPRA FIP Tour. “Champions in Norway.
