Seville, Perry and Deus aim for a second consecutive victory
April 16, 2026
Following their victory last week in Eidsvoll, Norway, in the first tournament they played together, Nuno Deus and Pedro Perry are aiming to secure back-to-back titles at the FIP Bronze Icónico Sports in Seville. The main obstacle to their success is represented by the tournament’s top seeds: Andrés Fernández Lancha and Mario Ortega, ranked n.60 and 73 in the FIP Ranking, who arrive at the Spanish event with the objective of claiming their first title of the year on the CUPRA FIP Tour. Other competitive pairs entered include Christian Medina Murphy and Alberto Garcia, recent finalists at the FIP Silver in Abidjan, Javier Valdés and Renzo Nuñez, and Santiago José Pineda and Diego García.
Leading the women’s draw are Jana Montes, born in 2008, and Alix Collombon, ranked n.54 and 34 in the FIP Ranking and winners of the FIP Silver in Caen last January. The two are placed in the top half of the draw alongside one of the most in-form players at present, Mónica Gómez, who in March claimed the FIP Bronze titles in Viseu, Helsingborg and Houten. On this occasion, the Spanish player will compete alongside Natalia Molinilla. In the opposite half of the main draw are Leti Manquillo and Noemi Aguilar, the latter having won last week’s FIP Bronze in Elche together with Amanda López. The latter will also compete in Seville, partnering Maria Rodriguez.
