FIP Platinum Albania, Day1. Serjani and Muedini make history. Wednesday marks the debut of the stars
May 26, 2026
Alensio Serjani and Martin Muedini have rewritten the history of Albanian padel. On the opening day of the FIP Platinum in Tirana, the two home players – competing thanks to a wild card – defeated Inigo Jofre and Lok Hei Jamie Yau 6-4 6-4, earning the greatest achievement of their careers: winning a match in a CUPRA FIP Tour tournament in the iconic Skanderbeg Square. Tomorrow, the challenge will become even greater for Serjani and Muedini, as Alex Ruiz and Juanlu Esbri (7) will be waiting on the other side of the net, but the two Albanians have already fulfilled a dream. A positive start also for the other seeded pairs, although Edu Alonso and Aimar Goñi (8) required a third set to overcome Fede Mouriño and Marc Quilez.
WEDNESDAY Tomorrow will mark the debut of the most highly anticipated pairs in Tirana. Centre Court will host a parade of stars: Ale Salazar and Ale Alonso will open against Camila Fassio and Anastasiia Ryzhova, followed by Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz against David Gala and Enzo Jensen, and then Martin Di Nenno and Jairo Bautista against qualifiers Adrian Naranjo and Pablo Sanchez. Not before 16.30 CEST, the remaining three matches will feature Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda against Carmen Castillon and Maria Portillo, Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini against Maxi Arce and Alex Arroyo, and finally Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas against José Diestro and Nacho Piotto.
