Italy, Jiménez and García target another title: challenge against Fernandez-Perino

Following their victory last week at the FIP Silver in Gran Canaria, José Jiménez and Javi García, No. 35 and 21 in the FIP Ranking, arrive in Italy aiming to win the FIP Silver Horama in Teramo and secure a second consecutive title. The pair are the No. 1 seeds in the tournament and this year have also won the FIP Bronze in the Netherlands, played in March. Their main rivals are the recent finalists of the FIP Silver in Kuala Lumpur: Denis Perino (52) and Antonio “Pincho” Fernandez (62). The latter has already claimed the Spanish FIP Bronze in Mallorca in 2026. Jiménez and García are in the top half alongside Ferran Insa and Samuel Rivas García, born in 2008, who in March achieved his first career title on the CUPRA FIP Tour by winning the FIP Bronze in Helsingborg, Sweden. In the opposite half, together with Fernandez and Perino, are the winners of the FIP Bronze in Valencia and the mid-April finalists of the FIP Bronze Cyprus I: Dani Luna and Adrián Márques. Also in contention in Teramo are Robert Belmont-Manuel Aragón and Alejandro Merino-Guillermo Fernández.

Emily Stellato will return to play with her partner in the Italian national team, Carolina Orsi, No. 29 in the FIP Ranking, who has already won two tournaments this season: the FIP Silver in Leiria last week and the FIP Silver in Caltanissetta at the end of March. Challenging the Italians for the title will be the two Spaniards Barbara Las Heras (62) and Carla Mesa (63), who are seeking their first CUPRA FIP Tour title of 2026. Carla Touly and Amanda López, the No. 3 seeds, are also aiming for overall victory. Also competing in Teramo will be the recent finalists of the FIP Silver in Bari: Camila Fassio and Aida Martinez. Among the Italian pairs are Giorgia Rosi-Martina Parmigiani and the winners of last week’s FIP Bronze in Montesilvano: Caterina Baldi and Clarissa Aima.
