Singapore, Joris wins first title on the CUPRA FIP Tour

The FIP Bronze in Singapore concluded with the first career success on the CUPRA FIP Tour for France’s Maxime Joris who, partnering compatriot Manuel Vives, defeated the pair of Agustín Reca and Víctor Tur Checa in the final (6-4 6-4). On their way to the title, the two had overcome Spain’s Miguel Bernal and Borja Trujillo (6-1 6-4) in the semi-finals. Vives and Joris did not concede a single set to their opponents throughout the tournament. “We did it!” said Joris after the triumph.

Alba Vázquez and Jimena Díaz claimed the women’s title by defeating Angelina Neizvestnaya and Elsa Terranova in the final (6-3 6-4). The champions had previously beaten Catarina Santos and Camila Ramme (6-2 6-3) in the semi-finals and Puck Bernard and Tess De Votch (6-0 3-6 6-3) in the quarter-finals. For Vázquez, this was her first title of the year on the CUPRA FIP Tour, while Díaz had also triumphed at the FIP Bronze in Joinville, Brazil, partnering Ainize Santamaria. A notable match in the tournament was the semi-final victory by Terranova and Neizvestnaya against the top seeds Marcella Koek and Bo Luttikhuis (6-3 3-6 6-3).
