Allen and Vellacott Claim double victory in Cardiff

Great entertainment was on display at the FIP Promises in Cardiff. A total of six draws were contested at this stage of the FIP Promises Tour: Boys’ Under 12, 14, 16 and 18, and Girls’ Under 14 and 16. All matches were played at the Smash Padel Cardiff venue.

 

In both girls’ categories, the pair of Rosie Allen and Elizabeth Vellacott claimed the title. In the Under 16 final, the two young players defeated Anna Carolina Leder and Lucy Bertram 6-3 6-4, while in the Under 14 final they recorded a convincing 6-0 6-1 victory over Morgan May and Lara Mohamed. In the boys’ category, Ben Phillips and Inde Cochise Bennett claimed the Under 18 title. After defeating the Dutch pair Nathan Van Lijf and Benjamin Langendorff 6-1 6-4, they went on to overcome Oliver Grantham and Rune Keppens in the title match with a double 6-4 scoreline.
