Day2. Another Coello wins: Rodrigo also reaches the round of 16 in his home city

While Arturo Coello prepares to take the court this evening alongside Agustin Tapia against Alex Chozas and Tino Libaak in the round of 16 at Plaza Mayor, another Coello has already won on home soil. Rodrigo, the younger brother of the world No. 1, partnered with Sweden’s Adam Axelsson to overcome the opening round of the Oysho Valladolid Premier Padel P2, defeating David Gala and Enzo Jensen 7-5 7-6. Coello Jr and Axelsson will face Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno (6) in the round of 16, in a draw that has lost Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz (5), who were forced to retire against Jairo Bautista and Iñigo Jofre. The remaining top seeds will also make their debuts today: Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2) against Luis Hernandez and Javi Martinez, Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger (3) against Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado, and Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas (4) against Manuel Castaño and Xisco Gil.

 

WOMEN Today will also see the debut of the seeded pairs in the women’s draw.
