From Chile to Dubai: Dametto and Calleja complete the back-to-back
June 8, 2026
Two dream weeks came to an end for Pablo Dametto and Felipe Calleja. After their victory at the FIP Bronze Chile III, they also claimed the title at the FIP Silver Dubai, held at Central Padel Dubai. The two champions enjoyed an outstanding run throughout the tournament: first they defeated the number 1 seeds, Tonet Sans and Gustavo Nunes, in the semi-finals (6-4, 6-1), then they overcame Cristobal Garcia and Pablo Castillo in the title match after a closely contested battle that was decided only in the third set (7-5, 4-6, 6-4). “This is the second consecutive weekend in which we have lifted a title,” said Calleja. “I am very happy with the moment we are experiencing. At the same time, I know there are still things we can improve. I am proud of what we have achieved over the last 15 days. Now it is time to return home and prepare for the upcoming events”.
In the women’s draw, Catherine Rose and Lucia Perez claimed the title. It was an important success for them, coming just one week after their defeat in the final of the FIP Bronze Abu Dhabi. The queens of Dubai, after defeating Jimena Diaz and Alba Vazquez in the semi-finals (6-4, 6-1), also won the title match in straight sets (7-5, 6-1). For Rose and Perez, the triumph secured last weekend was their second title of the year following their victory at the FIP Bronze Singapore in early March.
