Italy, Guichard-Geens claim the Palermo title. Ramme-Dubins triumph in the women’s draw

Winning a title by defeating the No.1 seeds in the final is the best way to triumph in a tournament. Dylan Guichard and Clement Geens became champions of the FIP Silver Mediolanum Cup Palermo in precisely this way. In the final, the pair defeated the top-seeded team in straight sets, formed by Antonio “Pincho” Fernandez and Adrian Marques (6-3 7-6). In the semi-finals and quarter-finals, they had overcome Nathan Courrin-Thomas Seux (4-6 6-4 6-4) and Juan Zamora-Luis Oliver Artigas (6-4 6-7 6-3), respectively. For the champions, this success confirms their strong season on the CUPRA FIP Tour: at the beginning of March, they lifted the trophy at the FIP Bronze Netherlands. “I am very happy to have won the second title of the year, the first in the Silver category” said Geens after the triumph. “This week we had to face many difficult matches, but we always managed to find the right solutions. For me, it is always a pleasure to play with you Dylan. Now we continue working: we have achieved nothing yet. We start again immediately with the FIP Platinum from Wednesday. Thank you all for the support”.

The outstanding run continues for Mexican Camila Ramme and the american Brittany Dubins. Following their recent victories at the FIP Bronze events in Hamburg and Miami, the fifth seeds in the tournament were also crowned champions in Palermo after defeating Alba Perez and Alba Gallardo in the final (6-2 2-6 6-4). At the end of the match, there was a moving moment for sport, with Ramme emotional at the achievement. In the semi-finals, the champions had defeated the home pair Caterina Baldi-Margherita Aima by a score of 6-1 3-6 7-6. In addition to the title won in 2026 alongside Dubins, Ramme has also claimed two further titles: the FIP Bronze events in Santa Maria, Brazil, and Aguascalientes, Mexico.
