Young padel talents shine in Portugal

Over the weekend, Portugal hosted the FIP Promises Pinhal Novo, the circuit event dedicated to young padel talents, with six draws played in total: four men’s and two women’s. In the men’s Under 18 category, Francisco Goncalves Da Silva and Javier Merino Nieto, after defeating Beltran Prieto Cidoncha and Adrian Ramos Ginestal in the semi-finals (6-3 6-2), overcame Hugo Palomo-Marcos Sanchez Pestana in the title match (6-4 7-6). In the women’s Under 16 category, Matilde Santos and Diana Simoes became champions, while in the Under 14 category, the title went to the pair of Patricia Murillo Prior and Violeta De Oro Izquerdo.
