Lea Godallier triumphs in Narbona to become queen of France for the third time in her career
June 22, 2026
Almost a month after winning the FIP Bronze Marnes, France’s Lea Godallier claimed her second title of the year on home soil by winning the FIP Silver Narbona. Partnering young Argentine Daiara Valenzuela, the home player defeated the tournament’s number one seeds, Noa Canovas and Laia Rodriguez, in the final (6-0 7-6). The runners-up arrived at this CUPRA FIP Tour event buoyed by their victories at the FIP Gold Shanghai and the FIP Bronze Latina at the end of May. In the semi-finals, the champions secured a straight-sets victory (6-1 6-0) over Anna Ortiz and Carla Touly. Godallier has also won another title in France during her career: in early June 2025, alongside Laura Lujan, she lifted the FIP Silver Bandol trophy. “Daiara, we could not have started our journey together in a better way. You are an outstanding person. I am very proud of you and happy to play alongside you. What you do is truly incredible” said Godallier after the triumph. “Thank you to everyone who is part of my daily life and helps me grow not only as a player but also as a person”.
In the men’s draw, the title went to the number three seeded pair Marcos Gonzalez Blanco and Martin Abud. After defeating Curro Cabeza and Mariano Gonzalez in the semi-finals following a closely contested match that was decided only in the third set (7-6 6-7 6-3), the champions overcame Maximo Maldonado and Franco Dal Bianco in the title match in straight sets, winning 6-4 6-4. For Abud, this was his first title of 2026 on the circuit. The Paraguayan had previously reached the finals of the FIP Silver events in Mumbai (India), Joinville (Brazil) and Wadi (Egypt). Gonzalez Blanco, meanwhile, has also won the FIP Silver Timisoara, Wadi and Caltanissetta tournaments this season, as well as the FIP Bronze London. “We became champions of this FIP Silver event in France” said Abud after the victory. “Let’s keep going like this, Marcos, you are extraordinary. Thank you to the whole team”.
