June 8, 2026
Winning is always special; doing so by dominating in your debut tournament as a pair is even more so. Ainize Santamaria and Clarinha Santos became the champions of the FIP Bronze Dakar in Senegal, dropping only one set to their opponents throughout the entire event. The winners of the women’s draw, after defeating Mafalda Fernandez and Alexandra Silva in the semi-finals (6-1 5-7 6-4), overcame the duo of Charlotte Soubrie and Melissa Martin in the final in straight sets (6-3 6-2). “Champions in Senegal! – Santamaria said after the victory -. This has been a special week. I am very happy with the title, but above all with the way we played. This was our first tournament as a pair. Thank you to everyone who supported us these days”.
In the men’s draw, the title was lifted by Julien Seurin and Johan Bergeron. In the final, this pair defeated the top seeds of the tournament, Pablo Pastor and Luis Oliver Artigas, in a match decided only in the third set (6-3 3-6 6-3), while in the quarter-finals and semi-finals they had defeated Rayane Akram Hamou and Guillermo Vera (6-3 7-6) and Maher Hackem and Joel Olivera Palos (6-0 7-6) respectively.
