Alcalá de Guadaíra, the Abbate-Montiel pair claim another title

Spectacle, high-level matches and emotions on court. The FIP Silver Alcalá de Guadaíra, held in Spain, crowned Italians Alvaro Montiel and Flavio Abbate as champions of the men’s draw. The Italian pair claimed the title after a closely contested final against the tournament’s No.1 seeds, David Gala and Enzo Jensen, which ended 7-6 3-6 7-6. For the winners, this was their fifth title of the year together, following the three titles won in Cyprus, two FIP Bronze and one FIP Silver, as well as the FIP Bronze title secured in Agadir. This result confirms the significant work carried out by the two Italians, as it came against a competitive pair such as Gala-Jensen, finalists at the end of May in the FIP Platinum Albania, who were able to count on the support of the home crowd.

In the women’s draw, Argentina’s Daiara Valenzuela triumphed alongside French player Lea Godallier. The two champions, after defeating Patri Martinez and Claudia Escacena in the semi-finals (6-1 1-6 7-5), overcame the tournament’s No.1 seeds Marta Borrero-Giorgia Marchetti in two sets (6-2 6-2). Thanks to this victory, the winning pair added another title to their record after the one they won together at the FIP Silver Narbonne.
