Alicante crowns García and Arias Aznar: fourth title in a season to remember

Aaron García and Sergio Arias Aznar, born in 2009 and 2004 respectively, are enjoying a dream season. After claiming the FIP Bronze titles in Kaunas (Lithuania), Matosinhos (Portugal) and Budapest (Hungary), the two Spanish padel talents also secured victory at the FIP Bronze San Juan de Alicante-El Salt, in Spain. Arias Aznar and García lifted the winners’ trophy after defeating Christian Medina Murphy and Alberto Garcia 6-4 6-3 in the title match. In the semi-finals, the champions had defeated Dani Luna and Nacho Moragues 6-1 7-6. “The truth is that I am very happy to have won the title in the Valencian Community. Thanks to the whole team and my family,” said Arias Aznar after the victory.

In the women’s draw, Amanda Lopez and Ariadna Cañellas, No. 57 and No. 60 in the FIP Ranking, claimed the title. This success confirms the pair’s excellent current form: last week, the two players reached the quarter-finals of the Premier Padel P1 in Malaga. The winners, who were the tournament’s No. 1 seeds, reached the final in circumstances they would not have wished for: their opponents, Lorena Alonso and Lucia Dionisio, retired while trailing 6-1 5-2. In the title match, the champions defeated the No. 3 seeds, Lorena Vano-Carmen Castillon, 7-5 7-6. For Cañellas, this was her second CUPRA FIP Tour title of the year: in February, she won the FIP Bronze Madeira in Portugal. For Lopez, it was her third title of 2026 following victories at the FIP Bronze events in Elche and Seville, Spain.
