Fuertes-Insa seek for victory on home soil in Spain

The challenge for the FIP Bronze Coruña title in Spain will feature a major clash between home players. The top four pairs in the men’s draw are all Spanish. The No.1 seeds are Pau Miñano and Boris Castro. Both have strong motivation: neither player has won a CUPRA FIP Tour tournament this year. Miñano came close to the title, reaching the final at the FIP Bronze Eidsvoll and Prishtina events. Their main challengers are Iago Fuertes and Ferran Insa. The former has won the FIP Bronze Kolding this season, while the latter claimed the FIP Bronze Alessandria title in Egypt in mid-May. The other leading home pairs are Jose Manuel Ortiz-Alvaro Pozo and Sergio Nieto-Jaume Romera Barceló.

The women’s draw is headed by Constanca Gorito and Ana Catarina Nogueira. The No.1 seeds are positioned in the top half of the draw alongside Martina Vera-Maria Teresa Morinigo (4). On the opposite side are Carla Fernandez-Nerea Guerra (2) and Anna Ortiz-Maria Delgado (3). Maria Garin and Leire Uriarte will also be among the players to watch at the Spanish CUPRA FIP Tour event. The main draw of this tournament will begin on 16 July and conclude on Sunday 19 July, when the finals will be played. All matches will take place at the ‘Coruña Sport Center’ venue.
