Italy and France set to challenge defending champions Spain in the finals

Spain will arrive at the finals of the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup 2026 with a single objective: to replicate the double achieved in the previous edition held in 2024. Their opponents will be the same national teams they faced in the matches for the title on that occasion: in the women’s event they will once again face Italy, while in the men’s event they will meet France. The finals will be played on Saturday 4 July in Porto, the city hosting the competition.

 

BOYS Spain’s Selección dominated on the fourth day of the Final 8 in Portugal. In the semi-finals, the team in red overcame Italy 3-0 with wins from the pairs Perez Gil/Estebanez Estevez, Fuertes Leonardo/Arranz Maestre and Zamora/Rivas. This further confirms the strength of the group, which, including the group stage, has not dropped a single set throughout the tournament. In the other semi-final, France and Portugal produced a highly competitive tie, with France prevailing 2-1. The ‘Blues’, after losing the opening match, responded by winning the second and third, with decisive victories from Perrot/ Huard De La Marre and Guy De Chamisso/Robert. In the semi-finals for the positions from fifth to eighth, Sweden and Belgium recorded victories against the Netherlands and Denmark respectively.

 

GIRLS in addition to their strong performance in the men’s semi-finals, Spain also impressed in the women’s event in Porto. Sweden, despite competing to the best of its ability, were defeated 3-0 by the defending champions: Garcia Molina/Fernandez Lopez overcame Malmina Stromgren/Linge, while Munera Vila/Delgado Medina and Verdejo Saiz/Pons Plazas defeated Teikari/Killman and Kjaergaard/Andersson respectively. The most exciting tie of the day saw Italy defeat Portugal 3-0 thanks to wins from the Italian pairs Giraldi/Minelli, Conti/Scarcella and Caruso/Speziali. The latter match against Battle Achando/Martinho Santos stood out, lasting over two and a half hours. In the semi-finals for positions from fifth to eighth, France defeated the Netherlands while Belgium overcame Estonia.
